A s we approach the Thanksgiving holiday let us remember all the blessings in our lives. All the the good that we are undeserving of yet have we received. Personally I have had a most trying year in many ways. However looking back I now know that there is a purpose for my heartache. I am happier at this point in my life than I have been for several years. It is sad to say that I allowed people and circumstances to control my thoughts, actions, and ultimately my everyday live. I have not been the person that I know to be. But PRAISE BE TO GOD that I gave all my burdens to The One Who Cares-GOD!! I have a peace in my heart today that is not of me but that of my Savior.
I am thankful for a great many things. Hear are just a few:

Mill Springs Veterans Memorial Cemetery
This is the Veterans Cemetery at Mill Springs. This is where my Papaw Matlock (mom's dad) is buried. It is such a beautiful place. The husband and wife are usually stacked one on top the other. Whoever dies first goes on the front of the headstone and the other on the back. My Papaw died on my husband's birthday and Bro. Caleb was in our home when I got the phone call. It is funny how the mind remembers such things. My Papaw has been dead four years this coming January. My Granny says she hasn't had the courage to return to the burial place since he was laid there. Four of my children had the opportunity to know their Great Papaw. For that I am thankful.

Short Creek
This is a nice little spot called Short Creek.
It is one of the shortest creeks in the US if not the shortest.
It is still owned by a private person. We used to go here when I was little and have picnics and play in the COLD water. There is a nice cool cave to explore as well.
