PKD Update

We left around 11:45 this morning to go to Houston to Texas Children's Hospital Clinical Care Building. Nick's Appointment was scheduled for 1:45. We signed in at 1:28 and were promptly called back. All went well. His b/p was actually normal for the first time!!! So...no increase on meds!!! They are supposed to call us the early part of next week with the appointment for the echo. Nicholas had to do labs today as well so that took a little extra time. His return appointment is scheduled for Dec. 23rd...the same day our oldest goes back to see the neurologist for the last time. I also had an opportunity to encourage our Renal nurse to participate in the PKD Walk on Sept. 20th. We arrived home around 5:15 this evening. Another long day but, I am very thankful to be so close to one of the nation's top 10 children's hospitals. Many people travel from other states, or other countries just to get their children the care they need. We are blessed to be only an hour or so away.

I am so thankful that Nick's BP was down to normal. I am praying his echo turns our good.

I love Texas Chilren's Hospital is one great hospital. We became aquainted with it when My sister's little girl was born with Spinal bifita. She only lived four days but the hospital was so great. They helped us so much. So, I know Nick is in the best of hands, God's first of all but then Texas Chilren's Hospital. connie

T,

Yes there is an annual PKD walk. I have never walked but am planning on going this year if I can find sponsorship. I have several ideas running through my head for sponsorship. Unfortunately it is on Sept 20th (camping trip weekend) But as for us if you remember we mentioned to you and your husband last camping trip that our family will only be going camping once a year. It has gotten to be quite costly and the fall of the year is not good for us financially. We have Homeowners due in Sept. Windstorm due in Oct. Taxes due in Nov./Dec. Not to mention 2 Oct. birthdays, 1 birthday in Nov., Thanksgiving and Christmas plus a Dec. anniversary. Several other people have mentioned to us that it is getting quite expensive for them as well. When you add everything up for us it costs around $250 for a one night camping trip. 'Is it a wise use of money?' For us during the Fall it is not. So we will put that money toward one of our other expenses. If you want for info on the walk check ou www.pkdcure.org
Thanks for your interest and we have been and will continue praying for your test on Thursday and the following results.
