We found this lovely creature in the yard around 6:30 this morning. We promptly lured it into the dog kennel and called the Wildlife Rescue Center. The lady on the phone informed us that it is likely a Yellow-Crowned
Night Heron. She said that often they leave the nest to early and once they are on the ground their parents are helpless to help them fly.

There is a lesson to be learned there somewhere. Leaving the nest too early leads to problems.
